Well, my folks overdid it. When they moved here in 2010, they had to give away over 50 boxes of books because there was no space for them. But some of their best friends are books and they could not bear to part away with a good number of them. So the books found their place in the living room. Ikea’s Billy bookcases helped as frames, but the books became the accidental centerpiece of the living room.
Apparently, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Cascade and Olympic mountains until 6am on Wednesday. Snow will reportedly remain heavy at times through Tuesday night with 2-4 feet of snow accumulation in the Cascades and 1-2 feet in the Olympics. Every pass over the Cascades will get snow according to the NWS forecast, so very careful out there.
I’m feeling brrrrrr just thinking about the storm rolling in. But these photos of my front entrance welcome flowers from past summers gave me some warm memories. These succulents survived the 2015 winter but may not make it this year.
But one can always hope, amirite?
The old, charming red cedar tree stood as shade and guard in the backyard for years but the place was a jungle in 2010. Oh, that poor rhubarb had been replanted twice but no one has been able to make a pie out of it since. The back fence was replaced with one made of cedar planks as you can see in the second photo below.
So, then it wasn’t a jungle, anymore. Ron of RS Renovations who did so much work here handbuilt this marvelous pergola. Look, no nails, just pegs! To the left of the pergola is a side view of the storage shed.
